About Ulgham

Ulgham (pronounced "uffham") or "village of the owls" is situated approximately six miles (9 km) to the north-east of Morpeth in the County of Northumberland. A rural village of some one hundred and fifty households, it provides a pleasant country environment whilst being within thirty minutes of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne. Close by are the beautiful unspoiled and uncrowded beaches of the Northumberland coast and historic towns of Alnwick and  Warkworth with their magnificent castles. The coast and local countryside boast numerous locations of interest: - Chillingham Castle, Hadrian's Wall, Bamburgh Castle, the Farne Islands and Holy Island are all within easy reach.
